Royal College Steps Up

Volunteers

On the 29th and 30th over a 100 students, 10 teachers and the Principal of Royal College volunteered at the Sarvodaya headquarters, where they unloaded, sorted and loaded trucks with relief supplies.

Students ranging from the ages of 14-18 hauled heavy loads of dry rations and medical supplies on to trucks headed to Ampara, Kilinochchi and Mannar. Supply materials for tents, and eating utensils were loaded onto trucks headed to camps and hospitals in Unawatuna, Galle, Ambalangoda, Hambantota, Matara, Colombo, Karapitiya, Moratuwa and Kalutara.

Royal College has pledged to continue their support through volunteer efforts to Sarvodaya’s orphanage program established to rehabilitate orphaned children ranging from infants to 11 years old.
