Sarvodaya’s initiative and response to the present economic crisis will ensure food security and safeguard vulnerable children and communities. At the same time a national-level media campaign to sensitize and inspire the public will be implemented. The project targets the Colombo, Gampaha and Kaluthara districts, and will additionally ensure emergency food and non-food items are distributed through established community kitchens.   

In the long run, Sarvodaya will be looking at mid and long-term solutions to ensure these communities are resilient to the economic pressures and shocks and will be introducing fitting programs in the scope of conscious- regenerative economics. This will include knowledge sharing on home and community gardens and social media promotion of the organization’s efforts.
