Our Vision:
To introduce Sarvodaya’s philosophy and principles to the global community.
To provide an opportunity for exploring Sri Lanka while at the same time learning about the value of sustainable development.
One of Sarvodaya’s main objectives is to share the experiences and ideas of the people in Sri Lanka with those from around the world. The International Unit is the central unit for volunteer programs.
The International Unit provides an array of different services, such as:
- providing information about the various opportunities that are offered for visitors, individual volunteers, small groups, and university groups
- planning and implementing these programs in a way that suits the volunteers’ interests
- arranging itineraries and budgets based on the needs of the volunteers as well as the villagers in Sri Lanka
Many of the programs involve exploration tours, Shramadana activities, and the opportunity to experience the realities of life and culture in Sri Lanka. Joining the villagers to do Shramadana activities provides an excellent opportunity for experiencing village life through an act of giving. Those who decide to visit or volunteer at Sarvodaya will be placed into projects based on their interests. Please visit our Volunteering page for more information. We hope to see you soon!
