Top UN delegation recently visited Sarvodaya Batticaloa Regional Center at Sathurukkondan. The delegation included Mr. Patrick Cammaert, the Special Envoy nominated by Special Representative of Secretary General for Children Affected by Armed Conflict, United Nations, Mr. Philippe Duamelle, the Country Representative of UNICEF, Sri Lanka, Mr. Aquilar Javier, the Chief of Child Protection Officer, UNICEF, Sri Lanka and Mr. Modestus Fernando, the Deputy Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, Ministry of Justices and Law Reform.

The delegation met with the child ex-combatants who are being trained in the Sarvodaya Vocational Training Center at Sathurukkondan. They also met and discussed with the parents of the trainees at the Vocational Training Center.
