The Neelabemma is an agricultural village which is located in the Puttlam District, belonging to the Divisional Secretariat Karuwalagaswewa & Bordering the Wilpaththu National park. After the commencement of an irrigation project in 1990, 325 farming families had been settled in Neelabemma. This remote area is a home to people of every faith and race, where live ingenuous villagers who work hard for the means of living.

The people, who live in this village, were in a great need of a place where they can gather & hold their Social Activities. As a result of that necessity, Sarvodaya responded to it & with the financial assistance of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, this multi purpose building has been built up so as to provide them with all necessary services under a same roof in order to bring about a sustainable development among the community living in the locality.

This Centre provides many services to the people. Primarily, the Spiritual, Social and Economic empowerment process is facilitating through the MPCC that consists of a Pre – School, Sarvodaya village Bank Centre, Health Centre, Library, Society Office, Divisional office, IT (Information Technology) center and a Community Hall for other community based activities.
