Hi, last week (26/5 - 30/5) few of my mates in Australia and a few friends from Oral Roberts University (Tulsa, OK) helped build a playgroung in the town of Hambantota. The project was sponsored by USAID and coordinated by Sarvidaya. It was a great outcome and the work was much appreciated by the local community (both parents and kids).
A big thanks to USAID, Sarvodaya and the students of ORU. keep up the good work.
Regards,
Chrishan David.

Dear Periadorai, I am very much pleased and overhslmed with the Peace initiatives of Sarvodaya. Really I need more information and full report of the activities in this conection. It will help to create a good atmosphere among the Tamil people of Tamilnadu to dispell wrong impression about the Sinhala people and very much like to publish the same in Sarvodaya and Grama Rajyam magazines both in English and Tamil.
With regards,
M.Mariappan

Wow. the things look so cute.

Congratulation, that's the best way - I suppose - to help the people. Only in a small dimension we helped in this way in Kalkudah. We sponsored a sewingmachine, the ladies there sewed nice skirts with Srilankan batics, we sold the skirts in Switzerland and sent the earned money back to Kalkudah

We know a lot of friends of Sri Lanka in Switzerland and Germany. They would surely buy!!!
Exists a possibility to buy from abroad? Do you have a catalogue/pricelist?

Thanks to you for your help!!!

People who were struggling to earn, due to health problems not alcohol etc then the tsunami damaged the home, may also be trying to gain some benefit. This can be good, when they will be able to help rather than be a burden on family. Leaders we know in a Catholic church (south) are also aware of the dishonesty, yet are trying to encourage work projects, by training people with new, achievable skills. Let tsunami victims train others, no matter how little the knowledge, even on days work as a trainer would build the self esteem. Agricultural training in fishing villages, as well as maintenance work eg wood, machinery, can be organised by victims.
