The project was sponsored by USAID and coordinated by Sarvidaya. It was a great outcome and the work was much appreciated by the local community (both parents and kids). We sponsored a sewingmachine, the ladies there sewed nice skirts with Srilankan batics, we sold the skirts in Switzerland and sent the earned money back to Kalkudah We know a lot of friends of Sri Lanka in Switzerland and Germany. They would surely buy!!! Exists a possibility to buy from abroad? Do you have a catalogue/pricelist? Thanks to you for your help!!! Wow. the things look so cute.

This can be good, when they will be able to help rather than be a burden on family. Leaders we know in a Catholic church (south) are also aware of the dishonesty, yet are trying to encourage work projects, by training people with new, achievable skills. Let tsunami victims train others, no matter how little the knowledge, even on days work as a trainer would build the self esteem. Agricultural training in fishing villages, as well as maintenance work eg wood, machinery, can be organised by victims.
