Sarvodaya philosophy recognises the need to develop financial self-sustainability whilst respecting the values of diverse religions and cultures.
The Sarvodaya Community Tourism Initiative (CTI) aims to develop sustainable income to support and empower rural village communities by sharing our natural resources, traditions and vision with visitors from home and overseas.
CTI projects will directly benefit the communities they serve by providing income, employment and skills development. Communities will manage their own projects and decide how any income is invested to improve community facilities. The CTI team is based at Sarvodaya headquarters in Moratuwa and will assist with marketing support and a comprehensive skills and language training programme.
The CTI projects are diverse and designed to appeal to both Sri Lankans and overseas visitors seeking meaningful experiences.
CTI projects will be introduced throughout 2006 and 2007 – click on each project description for more information.
