“MIHI REKMA” (Protecting Mother Earth) – Environmental Unit of Sarvodaya was ceremonially re-established at the Sarvodaya Head Quarters on 3rd August 2007 with the intention of re-commencing Sarvodaya Environmental Activities that are deeply rooted with spiritual values.

The new Resident Representative in Sri Lanka Mr.Neil Buhne paid a courtesy call at the Sarvodaya Headquarters in Moratuwa on the 14th of August 2008. Mr.Buhne was warmly welcomed at the Sarvodaya Headquarters by Dr.Vinya Ariyaratne and the senior staff. He visited the various programme units and interacted with the staff enthusiastically and sharing his own experience in development.

The New Vocational Training Centre building at the Sarvodaya District Centre in Trincomallee was declared opened by Her Excellency Ruth Flint Ambassador of Switzerland to Sri Lanka and Maldives on the 16th of July. This building is part of the Sarvodaya Peace Resource Centre Trincomallee and the Vocational Training Centre is funded by the Swiss Solidarity Foundation, Canton Zurich and CO-OPERAID.
