Dr. AT Ariyaratne was the chief guest at the Convocation ceremony held on the 18th October 2006, at the Gujarat Vidyapeeth – Ahmedabad – India, founded by Mahathma Gandhi in 1920. Dr. Ariyaratne delivered the keynote address while the Vice-Chancellor of Professor Sudarsha Iyenger presided over the function.

Sarvodaya’s Vishva Sama Samadhi – Universal Peace Meditation – in Anuradhapura’s sacred city on 2nd October was a great success and significant achievement. The morning started with the Sarvodaya “Family Gathering” with thousands of people participating as the buses, mini-vans and even tractors kept on arriving.
